Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour three 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
Mixing
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar until fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the flour mix to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until smooth.
- Add pink food coloring until you reach the desired shade of pink.
Baking
- Divide the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes in the pans. Then, turn the cakes out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
Assembly
- Once cooled, layer the cakes, spreading buttercream frosting between each layer and on the top and sides of the cake.
- Decorate with sprinkles and fresh flowers if desired.
