  • 3 pieces ripe bananas, mashed Use very ripe bananas for the best flavor and sweetness.
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • a pinch salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten Can substitute with applesauce or flaxseed meal.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Can substitute half of the flour with whole wheat flour for a healthier option.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 4×8 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas with the melted butter. Stir in the baking soda and salt. Mix well.
  3. Add the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract to the banana mixture. Stir until combined.
  4. Gently fold in the flour until just combined. Do not overmix.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cooling
  1. Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
