  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed Use overripe bananas for the best flavor.
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar You can substitute some of the sugar with honey or maple syrup.
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour You can substitute half with whole wheat flour for a healthier version.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 4×8 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth. Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas.
  3. Mix in the baking soda and salt.
  4. Stir in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract.
  5. Mix in the flour until just incorporated.
  6. Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan.
Baking
  1. Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  2. Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes
