  • 3 large cucumbers, sliced Use fresh cucumbers for the best crunch and flavor.
  • 1/2 cup red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup sour cream You can substitute with Greek yogurt for a lighter version.
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise Can be omitted for a lighter salad.
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar Adjust to taste.
  • 1 tablespoon sugar Feel free to adjust the amount.
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh dill or parsley for garnish (optional) Can also try basil or mint for variation.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine the sliced cucumbers and red onion.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the sour cream, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  3. Pour the dressing over the cucumbers and onions, tossing to coat well.
  4. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
  5. Garnish with fresh dill or parsley if desired, and serve cold.

Notes
