Ingredients

Wet Ingredients
  • ½ cup Unsalted Butter Can substitute with coconut oil for a dairy-free option.
  • 4 small Mashed Bananas About 1 ⅓ cups mashed. Use very ripe bananas for the best flavor and moisture.
Dry Ingredients
  • 1 ¾ cups All-Purpose Flour Can swap with whole wheat flour for a denser texture.
  • ½ cup Brown Sugar Coconut sugar works as a lower glycemic substitute.
  • ¼ cup Granulated Sugar Reduce if bananas are very ripe.
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon Optional but adds cozy warmth.
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda Ensure it’s fresh for optimal results.
  • ½ teaspoon Salt Do not omit for well-rounded taste.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mash the bananas until smooth. Set aside.
  3. In a separate mixing bowl, cream together the unsalted butter and both sugars until fluffy.
  4. Add the mashed bananas to the butter mixture and mix well.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon (if using), and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan and smooth the top.
  2. Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  3. Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Slice the banana bread and enjoy it warm or at room temperature. It’s delicious on its own, or you can spread a little butter or cream cheese on top. For an extra treat, serve it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of honey. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or wrap in plastic wrap and place in the freezer for about 3 months.
