Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Beat the mixture on medium speed for 2 minutes until smooth.
- Stir in the boiling water carefully, as the batter will be thin.
Baking
- Pour the batter into the prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes before removing them.
Frosting and Assembly
- Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
- Place one layer of the cake on a serving plate, spread with frosting, and top with sliced strawberries.
- Add the second layer of cake on top, then frost the top and sides of the cake with more frosting.
- Drizzle with chocolate shell coating before serving.
