Indian Chai Tea

Ingredients
  

Tea Base
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons loose black tea or 2 tea bags
Flavorings
  • 2 tablespoons sugar to taste
  • 2-3 pods green cardamom, crushed
  • 1 small piece cinnamon stick (optional)
Milk
  • 1 cup milk (whole or any milk of choice)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil.
  2. Add the crushed cardamom pods, cloves, and cinnamon stick if using.
  3. Once the water is boiling, add the loose black tea or tea bags and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
  4. Add sugar and mix well. Adjust sweetness to preference.
Final Steps
  1. Pour in the milk and bring the mixture back to a boil.
  2. Once boiling, reduce the heat and let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
  3. Strain the chai into cups and enjoy hot.
