  • 2 cups milk (or non-dairy alternative) Use your preferred type of milk
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons chai tea leaves (or 2-3 chai tea bags)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar Adjust to taste
Spices
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
Optional Flavoring
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract Optional

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a small saucepan, combine water and chai tea leaves (or tea bags). Bring to a boil and then reduce to a simmer for 5 minutes.
  2. Add the milk, sugar, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, and cloves to the saucepan.
  3. Heat the mixture over medium heat until hot, but do not boil. Stir to combine.
  4. Remove from heat and strain the tea if using loose leaves.
  5. Pour into mugs and add a splash of vanilla extract if desired.
  6. Serve hot and enjoy your cozy chai tea latte!
