Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 4 cups water
  • 4 bags black tea bags You can substitute with other types of tea.
  • 1 cup milk or non-dairy alternative Adjust based on preference.
  • 1/2 cup sugar To taste; can be omitted.
  • 2 sticks cinnamon
  • 5 pods cardamom pods
  • 5 pieces cloves
  • 1 inch fresh ginger, sliced For stronger flavor, use fresh ginger.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a pot, bring water to a boil.
  2. Add tea bags, cinnamon sticks, cardamom pods, cloves, and ginger.
  3. Reduce heat and let it simmer for about 10 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and add sugar and vanilla extract, stirring to combine.
  5. Strain the mixture into a jar, discarding the solids.
Serving
  1. Mix equal parts chai concentrate with milk and heat in a saucepan, or serve over ice for an iced chai tea latte.

Notes
