Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8-inch square baking pan and line it with parchment paper.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter. Stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
Mixing
- Add cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Stir until just combined. If using, fold in chocolate chips.
Baking
- Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.
- Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan.
Cutting and Serving
- Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out heart-shaped brownies.
- Serve warm or at room temperature. Optionally, dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with melted chocolate.
