Ingredients
  

For the hot chocolate
  • 300 ml 300 ml whole milk Use whole milk for a creamier texture.
  • 100 g 100 g dark, bittersweet chocolate (65-70% cocoa solids) Chopped into small pieces.
  • 1 pinch Small pinch sea salt (fleur de sel) Enhances the chocolate flavor.
  • 0.25 tsp ¼ tsp vanilla extract Can substitute with vanilla powder.
  • 0.25 tsp ¼ tsp grated nutmeg Optional spice for flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Heat the milk in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, taking care not to let it boil.
  2. Once the milk is warm, add the salt, vanilla, and nutmeg (if using).
  3. Gradually whisk in the chopped chocolate pieces until they melt into the milk.
  4. Keep gently whisking for at least 5 minutes to create foam and thicken the mixture.
  5. When the mixture is thick enough, pour the hot chocolate into cups or jugs. Serve immediately.
