Football Game Day Appetizers

Delicious and easy-to-make appetizers, perfect for sharing on football game day, including chicken wings, nachos, and stuffed jalapeños.

Ingredients
  

For the Chicken Wings
  • 2 pounds chicken wings
  • 1/2 cup hot sauce
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
For the Nachos
  • 1 bag tortilla chips
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 can black beans, drained
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 1/2 cup sliced jalapeños
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
For the Stuffed Jalapeños
  • 12 pieces fresh jalapeños
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or pepper jack)
  • 1/2 cup cooked bacon, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Method
 

Chicken Wings Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, toss the chicken wings with salt and pepper.
  3. Spread the wings on a baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 40-45 minutes until crispy.
  5. In a small saucepan, melt the butter and mix in the hot sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  6. Once the wings are done, toss them in the sauce.
  7. Serve hot!
Nachos Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Spread tortilla chips evenly on a baking sheet.
  3. Sprinkle cheese over the chips.
  4. Add black beans and jalapeños on top.
  5. Bake for about 10 minutes until the cheese is melted.
  6. Remove from the oven and add salsa and sour cream.
  7. Garnish with green onions before serving.
Stuffed Jalapeños Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cut jalapeños in half and remove seeds.
  3. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, shredded cheese, cooked bacon, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  4. Stuff each jalapeño half with the cheese mixture.
  5. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden.

Notes

Serve chicken wings with celery sticks and your favorite dipping sauce, like ranch or blue cheese. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
