Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
- Mix in the melted butter.
- Add the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract. Stir until combined.
- Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and mix well.
- Add the flour last and stir just until you no longer see any dry flour. Do not over mix!
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes
Slice the banana bread while it is still warm or at room temperature. Enjoy plain, or with butter or cream cheese. For storage, wrap tightly in plastic wrap or aluminum foil and keep at room temperature for 3-4 days, or freeze for up to 3 months. Customize with added spices or nuts.
