Ingredients
  

For the cake
  • 1 box German chocolate cake mix Use a good quality mix for the best flavor.
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
For the cream cheese filling
  • 8 oz cream cheese Allow to soften at room temperature.
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix the cake mix, eggs, water, and oil until combined.
  3. Pour the batter into a greased 9x13 inch cake pan.
  4. Sprinkle the shredded coconut and chopped pecans evenly over the batter.
  5. In another bowl, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the batter and coconut/pecan layer.
  7. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
  8. Use a knife to swirl the cream cheese mixture lightly into the batter.
Baking
  1. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  2. Let cool before serving.

Notes
