Preparation
  1. In a medium saucepan, heat the whole milk and heavy cream over medium heat. Stir gently until it’s warm but not boiling.
  2. Once the milk mixture is hot, add the dark chocolate. Stir continuously until the chocolate melts completely and the mixture is smooth.
  3. Add the granulated sugar and vanilla extract. Mix well until everything is combined. Taste the hot chocolate and add more sugar if you want it sweeter.
  4. Remove from the heat and serve hot in mugs.
