Ingredients
  

For the Chai
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 4 teaspoons black tea leaves Use strong black tea like Assam or Darjeeling.
  • 8 pods green cardamom, crushed
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 2 sticks cinnamon
  • 2 inches fresh ginger, sliced
  • 4 tablespoons sugar Adjust to taste.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Bring the water to a rolling boil in a medium saucepan. Add the cardamom, cloves, cinnamon sticks, and ginger slices.
Steeping
  1. After boiling with the spices for about 5 minutes, add the black tea leaves. Steep the mixture at around 210°F (99°C).
Final Touches
  1. Stir in the sugar, then add the milk. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  2. Strain the tea into cups and serve hot.

Notes
