  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup freeze-dried strawberries, crushed

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips and crushed freeze-dried strawberries until evenly distributed.
Baking
  1. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  2. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  3. Allow to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to cooling racks.
  4. Once cooled, drizzle with melted chocolate for decoration, if desired.
