Ingredients
  

For the chai milk
  • 2 cups whole milk (or almond/oat milk for dairy-free) Use almond or oat milk for a dairy-free version.
  • 2 bags black tea (Assam or English Breakfast) Any strong black tea will work.
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground ginger (or 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated) Adjust according to taste.
  • 3 pods cardamom (crushed)
  • 2 whole cloves
  • 2 tbsp honey (or sugar, adjust to taste) Sweeten according to preference.

Preparation
  1. In a saucepan, pour in the milk and add the black tea bags, cinnamon stick, ground ginger, crushed cardamom pods, and whole cloves.
  2. Heat the mixture over medium heat. Stir occasionally until it comes to a gentle simmer.
  3. Once it simmers, reduce the heat to low and let it steep for about 5 minutes.
  4. Remove the saucepan from the heat. Take out the tea bags and strain the mixture to remove the spices.
  5. Sweeten with honey (or sugar) to taste. Stir well to combine.
